Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Here are three essentials to a walk directed by God – full trust, renunciation of one’s own wisdom, and acknowledging God in everything. Such a walk is contrasted in Proverbs with “dark ways” , stumbling, wickedness, and foolishness. So David prayed that God would lead him in a straight way. So should we all. A straight way is a way of integrity and uprightness. It is a way full of God’s blessing. It is a way that will lead to the right goal – God Himself.
God asks us to trust Him completely. We do this by admitting we cannot handle life’s obstacles by ourselves. We do not have the power to overcome our difficulties alone. Once we surrender, our lives will align with God’s plan. We will trust His wisdom to guide and direct our future instead of relying on our limited understanding. God wants the best for us! We will continue to allow Him the opportunity to create within us a fulfilling heart.
