Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Here, Jesus promises, “Seek, and you shall find. ” But Paul says in Romans 3:11 that there is no one who truly seeks after God. How can we reconcile these two ideas? The answer is that the natural man never seeks God, but that those with a new nature (from the new birth) do both seek him and find him. But in another sense, we should rather say “He sought us” than to say “We sought Him. “
