Psalms 119:103-105 (KJV) How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
We make lots of choices on any given day. And when a choice is needed quickly, we don’t usually have time to weigh the pros and cons. Many people simply “go with their gut,” however believers who desire to walk wisely through the perils of this world require some thing more dependable than natural instinct. We need godly understanding and ideas to guide us, which is why we need to make meditation on the Word a every day habit.
We all have a type of filter in our mind. It’s made of the standards we have been taught as children, the behavior we’ve formed, and the facts we accept as true. New information coming our way passes through that filter and is both accepted or rejected. A mental filter strengthened with biblical fact is crucial for Christians as it identifies matters that align with God’s Word and rejects anything that is sinful, deceptive, unwise, or in any other case dangerous for us.
Since Scripture is important to understanding God and following His will, we can’t afford to overlook it. If you need clarity on God’s perspective, visit the Bible and fill your thoughts with the facts that guides and guards us.
